One of the best teachers I know has to be the noble force of the cold. Out of all the modalities that exist to connect us to who we truly are, to me the cold may just be the most powerful. •While its a physical and mental challenge, it forces you to be completely present. The connection to your breath and the now moment blend together to erase any sense of stress, sadness, anxiety, confusion, or even time. What’s left is a simple being-ness, where all life’s questions are answered. •There’s no bullshit when your in the ice water. The worries of the day disappear and your left to feel the power of the present moment.. as is the goal of meditation. The strength gained and lessons learned in the cold carry over to every day life, gifting a huge list of benefits including increased energy, immunity to sickness, better blood flow, overcoming fears, a deep sense of inner peace, a strong sense of empowerment and great enthusiasm for life. •I’m sharing this message because this practice has brought me so much benefit, and I believe it can do the same for others. From this perspective, the cold is a tool to help us humans evolve to higher states of consciousness with greater happiness, awareness, strength and compassion for everyone. Let the cold be a friend this winter ❄️
One of the most profound experiences in life that one can have is to fully realize the infinite interconnectedness of everything ~
This experience goes much deeper than the words on this page. As a synthesis of the left and the right brain, the mind, body, spirit, and heart, come together effortlessly for the benefit of all of life. To experience the wholeness of existence through mind and spirit is to see the world as a single gigantic organism with its own collective mind. Everything connects to everything else, boundaries break down, and many ecological alignments become perceivable. From here, the universe is not a merely a collection of inanimate parts but rather, is alive, intelligent, and a product of your own creation.
A higher consciousness is not to be judged as better than any other state of being, it simply is an operation of human awareness on a different wavelength. It is more closely aligned with love, peace, joy, and gratitude, and can see a bigger picture.
While effortlessly flowing with nature in grace and simplicity, a higher consciousness values spiritual purification, awakening, transcendence, liberation, unconditional love, compassion for all, emotional mastery, presence, mindfulness, gratitude, unity, deeper and deeper levels on interconnectedness, selfless living, and humility.
When awakening to a higher state of awareness, the metaphysical background of reality that lies beyond the mind, begins to shine. One begins to fully recognize “Maya” or the illusion that has been painted onto our reality. From here, one can see past the illusion and is able to transcend all concepts, philosophies, biases or beliefs. Embodying this truth results in a radiance of love, and a manifestation of the self for the benefit of existential reality, life, and the entire planet.
One also begins to clearly see that all of what mankind is really searching for is a higher consciousness. At the core of our being, we are all searching for love, which is achieved unconditionally with a progressive evolution of our awareness. As a result of this understanding, one becomes interested in cooperative action for elevating the consciousness of mankind while helping to awaken humanity and assist in remembering the magnificence of our existence. This is a process of integration that leads to wholeness and synthesis that lies beyond analysis, and gives rise to an importance of being, as opposed to knowing, doing and having.
We may then come to realize, in truth, that we are not just a coincidental being that happened to appear billions of years after the big bang. But we are in fact, the heart of it all.

One sunny Sunday morning, in the quaint town of Surry, Maine, I had stumbled upon an opportunity to experience the art of Zen. On this fine morning, I was to follow a kind yet modest lady named Nancy on a gentle walk through the old growth forest to find the location in which we would practice a quiet meditation. The morning sun felt as warm as her heart, and after a brief introduction, I knew that we shared the common goal of finding an ever-deeper connection with ourselves, and with the universe.
Through the dense tree cover, the meandering trail eventually guided us to a carefully crafted building made with the very timber that surrounded us. While birds sang, frogs peeped, and leaves rustled in the wind, we entered the meditation room with a bow and proceeded to take our seats. By way of experience, today was about discovering what it means to “be Zen.”
Inside we sat, along with several others to participate in one hour of silent meditation. It was during this time where our spiritual connections expanded in depth, and intuitive insights became illuminated.
Perhaps the most profound insight to come to me was a deepened understanding of the nature of time itself. As an object of the mind, its essence is relative. It became clear to me that the “time” we abide by with the passing of each day is merely a mental construct that we project onto our reality. By shifting awareness to my heart center, linear time as it is commonly known and experienced began to dissolve and I found myself immersed in what felt like “the eternal now.” In this space, there was no thinking, no rationalizations, no concepts. Simply a being-ness, in which to rest. With no effort, my breath flowed in its natural rhythm, and an easy feeling of contentment was abundant.
As a seeker of spiritual connection, I’ve explored countless disciplines that aim to balance the mind, body, and spirit. Whether it be yoga, Tai Chi, sensory deprivation tanks, or binaural beat meditations, every modality certainly contains its own elements that are valuable. One fundamental goal of Zen is to embody that which is discovered in the journey of meditation. From rigorous self control, practice of meditation, and personal exploration the embodyment of Buddha teachings results in an expansion of the compassionate nature of the self, for the benefit of others. Zen is one path of many that lead to the same ultimate destination, and it is here, now, in this moment. To me, the experience of Zen on this day showed itself to be a valuable tool in the toolbox used to build the metaphorical house of enlightenment.

Whether we are conscious of it or not, the Earth communicates with every one of us in one way or another. By way of experience, a trip to the mother continent, Africa, gifted me an expanded perspective of this diverse planet we call home. After 2 weeks, 8 flights, and 2,000 kilometers on the road, many different destinations, interactions, and experiences have culminated into a humbling wash of knowledge that has left me with a lot to think about.
Among the many individuals that I met along the way was a hero of mine, Michael Tellinger. Michael is a scientist, explorer and internationally acclaimed author of numerous books, and dozens of lectures available on YouTube. He is the founder of the UBUNTU Liberation Movement of UNITY & Higher Consciousness. Michael has become an authority on the ancient vanished civilizations of Southern Africa, the mysterious origins of humankind, resonance, cymatics, and the power of sound. His research includes a diverse field of subjects such as archaeology, mythology, human origins, religion, origins of money, spirituality, breakthrough science, and consciousness. By acting on principals of love and unification, he is wholeheartedly committed to bringing unity and peace to everyone and has become one of the most influential figures doing so on the planet today.
One morning while hiking atop the third largest canyon in the world, Blyde River Canyon, we came across numerous vendors selling their homemade trinkets. I had a chance to ask questions to the older woman pictured below about her life. Having crafted her pieces in a nearby village, she travels up the mountain daily with hopes of selling her crafts to provide for herself and her family. She earns a very modest living, with little opportunity to do much more than sell her handicrafts. Her values seemed to be centered on relationships and loving her family. In this sense, she has all the wealth she could ever ask for. She said that the people in her village were happy and while living was not luxurious by any means, they have access to most things that they need. The simplicity she embodied imprinted my heart with amazement, and meeting her was truly an experience that has gifted me gratitude for the privileged life that I have led.
Shortly after landing in Johannesburg, in the northeastern corner of South Africa, a white-knuckle drive littered with car accidents and unfamiliar cultural territory led us to begin the next leg of our African adventure in Kruger National Park.
Bordering Mozambique to the east, Kruger Park contains one of Africa’s largest game reserves, with an abundance of Lions, Leopards, Rhinos, Buffalo, and Elephants. It is one thing to see these animals in a zoo, however, when experienced in the wild their true nature is illuminated. While glaring into the eyes of this Leopard, I was given the sense that something more was at play. While it was beyond words, it was as if the intelligence of the earth was staring right back at me. The culmination of millions of years of evolution glaring right into my eyes deeply influenced the connection between my mind, body, and spirit. Feeling as though I was in communication with the animals via my heart’s perception, the messages coming from the soul of these animals spoke to the simplicity of mind that these creatures embody, almost as if to demonstrate a model of purity.
Hundreds of other mammals call this area home, including a widely diverse bird and reptile population. The plant kingdom here was like none other experienced in America, with bush plains, tropical rainforests, and unique wildflowers littering the landscape. Among the most remarkable, was this Baobab tree, which can live to be over 1,000 years old. Again, an energy of simplicity and old wisdom was palpable in the presence of this woody beast.
Another notable point in my travels throughout South Africa was the genuine kindness of the people that I encountered. Despite the prevalence of poverty and hardship, each local, black or white, expressed a clear emotion of satisfaction. It is said that the epidemic of depression has not yet reached South Africa and based on my experience, I would hold this to be true. To me, this was another example demonstrating that money does not equal happiness.
My friend Daniel here traveled to South Africa From Malawi, one of the least developed and most impoverished countries on Earth. His mission is to sell his paintings to tourists, to support his family and modest lifestyle in a nearby township. A kind individual at heart, I was happy to pick up one of his paintings and support his journey.
By way of chance, my travel to Africa connected me through the incredible city of Dubai, where I was able to explore the nightlife. This city is predicated on the spirit of ” Why not” and is essentially a sandbox for engineering and luxury lifestyle. This picture was taken from the tallest building in the world, The Burj Kalifa, and shows the breadth of the city at night. This building was so tall in fact, that you could watch the sunset on the ground, jump in the elevator to the 126th floor and watch the sun dip below the horizon all over again.
To experience such extremes of poverty and wealth conveyed to me the need for greater gratitude and compassion in our world for a more harmonized society. With a greater value of humility, we can bridge the gap between these extremes and value all human beings as the beautiful expression of this universe that we truly are. No matter the ethnicity, no matter the race, we are all equally deserving of love. With the energy of peace, we can dissolve self-constructed boundaries and act as one to co-create a more unified world. Coming together in this way first requires purifying ourselves, and realizing that we are the creators of our own realities. On the wavelength of humility and gratitude, we may come to manifest the highest and best good by acting on these selfless intentions.
Much gratitude for all experience that has come my way.
On to the next adventure ~

Despite the fact that we have gathered libraries of information on water, our current knowledge of this life supporting liquid may still be trivial-a drop in the ocean. The old sciences speak to our intellect. They function inside a carefully crafted box encumbered by the slow, linear progression from hypothesis to acceptance of new ideas. Although there is nothing wrong with this approach, it tends to dismiss ideas that cannot be tested using traditional methods from inside the box. The old sciences limit us to what we can experience with our senses. They teach us that reality is defined by what we can experience through what we can see, touch and hear – forgetting that our senses, themselves, are limited. The new sciences speak to a heart centered intellect. By taking us to the subatomic world, they reveal how all things are a part of the whole. They show us the inadequacy of our physical senses for evaluating the universe. They honor both the intuitive and physical senses, bridging the gap between right brain and left brain as well as the gap between science and spirit. From this new perspective, there are no boxes, there is no separation, and we are all participants in the ongoing creative process. Where water is concerned, the new sciences reveal a fourth phase of matter – a liquid crystal designed to interact with our biology. When used consciously, liquid crystalline water can be used to heighten our experience as water beings on this blue planet we call home ~ Dancing With Water
